National Arts Summit

The Summit will bring together three generations; emerging, established and senior artists. Important issues including the findings of the Nation Arts Survey as well as significant issues relating to arts practice and education in contemporary Australia will be discussed.

This is a milestone event in the Canberra Centenary celebrations year 2013 and not to be missed!

It is your opportunity to influence government policy for years to come!

The Summit will:

  • cover the results of the National Arts Survey
  • include a panel discussion by national arts figures, and
  • prepare key recommendations to the National Cultural Policy.

Speakers

The confirmed speakers include Robyn Archer, Richard Gill, Claudia Visca (Vienna), Les Murray, and Lisa Colley.

Professor Hugh McKay read in absentia and Professor David Throsby to be confirmed.

Virginia Haussegger will be the MC and the Facilitator of the Q & A Panel at the Summit.

Collaborators

The event is a collaboration between the Australian Talented Youth Project, Australian National University, Canberra’s arts organisations and national cultural institutions with the support from Canberra businesses and charity organisations.

Online survey

The online arts survey asks two questions and will take a few minutes to complete. Each response will be looked at individually and valued in the context of needed changes and kept confidential.
